Retail Distribution Investigated for BASIXTM
December 12, 2008 - Brastel Telecom of Japan, an international partner of Acredo Technologies Inc, is taking a new strategic direction by tailoring BASIXTM to be sold as a retail product. By distribution through retail channels and the web they plan to offer the broadband phone systems as a prepackaged "starter kit." The product will include several phones, most likely starting at a three phone package, which will be pre-configured with phone numbers and 4-digit extensions. The first month of service would be included in the retail price.
Keeping step with their partners, Acredo is looking into the same type of strategy for the US market. As opposed to the structure of channel partners and business to business sales, they are looking into a retail strategy. The team plans to investigate retail channels with a focus on electronics, such as Office Depot, Staples , Best Buy, etc. They are also looking for an economic desk phone, that provides the quality experience similar to the Avaya 9620, to include in the BASIXTM package. Acredo expects to have this new product plan completed in early February 2009.
